From supermarket checkouts to particle accelerators.
SOTA TEH is a small software company from Ljubljana, Slovenia. The systems behind it have run in retail chains, VR platforms, casino floors, mobile-game studios and big-science labs — built by the same hands that will build yours.
What we do
IT services, mostly development. Four flavors — all of them end with software running in production, not with a slide deck.
Custom development
Products and internal tools: desktop, backend, web, mobile, VR — down to hardware integrations. From the first spec to the shipped release, including the parts everyone skips: tests, docs, deployment.
Integration & data
APIs, protocols, data migrations. Making stubborn systems talk to each other — ERP to storefront, device to database, legacy to cloud — and moving the data without losing a single row.
Modernization
Legacy gets respect here — it has carried the business for years. We read it, understand why it is the way it is, and when change is due, propose a refactor that leaves it better, never worse.
Close to the metal
Control and device software — the kind that drives real hardware and must not guess. Serial and network protocols, sensors, actuators, timing budgets. Written with care, reviewed twice, logged always.
Every word of that headline is literal.
Over the years we’ve worked with — and inside — some very good teams:
Seventh Continent — nationwide grocery retail, Russia
The leading VR-video platform, on every major headset
Electronic table gaming on casino floors worldwide
Mobile games downloaded billions of times
Control systems for particle accelerators and proton therapy
Some of that work ran under our own name, some embedded in those teams. Either way — five industries of hard-won experience, now on your side of the table.
How we work
It means the one that is still right in ten years.
Senior, small, direct
No account managers, no telephone game, no junior hours billed at senior rates. You talk directly to the engineer whose name is on the commits — so decisions take minutes, not meetings.
Questions before code
A few precise questions beat a month of onboarding: tasks get done right and fast, and the domain knowledge we build up flows back into your process as improvements.
Built to be maintained
Software starts turning into a liability the day after launch — unless it's written, documented and supported to stay an asset. Ours is — by design, not by luck.
We eat our own cooking.
Between client projects we ship our own tools. Pineapple is a tiny Windows tray utility that keeps your machine awake, your presence natural and Windows Power Mode one click away — free, under 1 MB, no installer drama.

Tell us what needs building.
A rough idea in three sentences is plenty. You’ll get an engineer’s honest read — feasible or not, roughly how big, and what we’d do first.
